Providing transitional housing for senior women fleeing abuse, or over the phone support, and advocacy to women 55+ of age experiencing the impact of a past or present violent/abusive relationship. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Crisis calls can be directed to: Durant Crisis at (604) 531-4430 - 24/7 days a week. Women over the age of 55+ are invited to call for more information about the 16 steps to Empowerment women’s drop-in group.
Fraser Health – Adult Abuse and Neglect
Fraser Health is responsible for responding to situations of abuse and neglect involving adults unable to seek support and assistance on their own due to restraint, physical handicap, illness, disease, injury or any other condition that affects their ability to make decisions.

Seniors First BC
Works to raise awareness, and to prevent and respond to elder abuse and neglect. Provides information, support, advocacy and legal representation for older adults age 55+; and victim services for people age 50+. Offers free financial literacy and elder abuse prevention workshops and training for community groups.

SAIL is a safe place for older adults, and those who care about them, to speak to a trained intake worker about abuse and any issues that impact the health and well-being of an older adult or wish to receive information about elder abuse prevention. Funded by the Province of BC. Available 8:00 am - 8:00 pm 7 days a week (except statutory holidays)

(Elder Law Clinic and Legal Advocacy Program) Provides free legal advice, advocacy and representation to people who are not able to access legal help due to low income or other barriers on legal issues involving housing, debt, government benefits, financial exploitation, guardianship or capacity, abuse or neglect, age discrimination and residential care. Funded by the Law Foundation of BC.

Provides information, support and referrals to people aged 50+ who are victims of abuse, including family and sexual violence. Provides support to anyone who has witnessed the abuse of an older adult. Funded by the Province of BC Ministry of Justice, Victim Services and Crime Prevention Division. Available 8:00 am - 8:00 pm, 7 days a week (except holidays). Language interpretation is available 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday .

Threshold Multicultural Outreach
Get support and empowerment from Threshold outreach staff, who offer services that will support you if you have experienced threats, abuse and/or violence including sexual assault and historical sexual abuse. Services are offered in a safe, accepting and confidential environment in which you can explore your options and define your goals. Threshold staff recognize and respond to your cultural and lifestyle needs in addressing abuse.

Vancouve/Lower Mainland Multicultural Family Support Services Society
Provides culturally sensitive support, counselling, advocacy, accompaniment and referrals to immigrant, refugee and visible minority women including seniors, children and families facing the challenges of domestic violence. Assistance in over 20 languages is available. They also provide workshops and various free educational programs on Stopping the Violence services; Community Based Victim Services and more.
